    • Constitution of St. Vincent and the Grenadines

    • West Indies Cricket

    • The New Constitution of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

    • For the people to Vote "YES" to the New Constitution.

    • Don't be shy...

    • The weaknesses and limitations of the existing Constitution are corrected in the new Constitution.

    • A foreign Queen as Head of State, represented by a Governor-General, who is hand-picked by the Prime Minister and effectively removable by him.

    • A home-grown President elected, with safeguards, by the National Assembly; and removal during his/her term of office through a Tribunal Procedure and two-thirds of the Assembly, for “misbehaviour” in office.

    • A foreign Queen as Head of State, represented by a Governor-General, who is hand-picked by the Prime Minister and effectively removable by him.

    • Consolidation and extension of rights and freedoms. Enhancement in areas of right to life, freedom of expression, property rights, and the right to collective bargaining. Strengthened protection through the Human Rights Commission, Caribbean Court of Justice, and an independent Judiciary, including a secure Magistracy.

    • Insufficiently representative first-past-the-post electoral system.

    • Improved considerably by a mixed system of first-past-the-post and proportional representation.

    • No mechanism to bring Representatives to account between elections.

    • A sophisticated reportage system directly to constituents and in writing to the Speaker of the National Assembly. “Name and Shame” authority of Speaker.

    • Ineffective controls by the Parliament over the Executive especially in the area of finance.

    • Strengthening immeasurably the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) which has oversight of government spending. The PAC, chaired by the Minority Leader, will, under the new Constitution, have a majority of Opposition members and will be armed with powers of subpoena of public officials and documents.

    • The powers of the Prime Minister are excessive.

    • The powers of the Prime Minister are effectively reduced in at least 12 important ways.

    • The powers of the Opposition Leader are insufficient.
