My 442 factory is 390 BHP and a sweet cruiser, besides the 442 was built to out run most other musle a job she did very very well. but look at my prifile and you'll see the shape she is in before I got her. I've tossed the idea of building the engine but she is still running factory compression is all 8, of course she only has 62,180 original miles, the body need TLC and I could use a new top.

i'd say redo the hole car and give it a new coat of jet black with crome pin stripes:) another words restore her piece by piece and try and get all the motor parts from jegs
The restore is more or less underway, its a matter of when I have the money I don't have the time but when I have the time I don't have the money, its a bitch sometimes, if I overhaul the engine it will wait because if the damn good shape it's in. The flat black is an over coat the old owner did on her, yes it looks good but the was originally an rare Brown and brown combo, only found in 1971 and rather rare to start with, I think she'll be a mettlic broze with brown intierios.

If you want an original you need to restore you can't build it from the ground up and call it an original.
