Look at dates on food they are important also look & smell food if it looks or smells different throw it away.
Hepatitis A- Hepatitis A is mainly found in the feces of people who are infected with it.THe virus can contaminate water and many types of food.It is comonly linked with ready to eat food.However,it has also been linked with shellfish contaiminated by sewage The virus is often transfered to food when infected foodhandlers touch food or equipment with fingers that have feces on them.Eating only a small amount of the virus can make a oerson sick.Aninfected person may not show symptoms for weeks BUT can be very infectious. COOKING DOES NOT DESTROY HEPATITIIS A
Symptoms are mild fever,general weakness,nausea,abddominal pain,jaundice(appears later)
Norovirus gastroenteritiis-like hepatitis a.Norovirus is comonly linked to ready to eat food.It has also been linked with contaminated water.Norovirus os often transfered to food when infected foodhandlers touch food or equipment with fingers that have feces on them.Eating only a small amount of Norovirus can make a person sick.It is also very contagious.Peopl become contagious within a few hours after eating it.the virus is often in a person's feces for days after symptoms have ended
SYMPTOMS OF NOROVIRUS ARE-Vomiting,diarreha nausea andominal cramping
BACILLUS GASTROENTERITIS-FOUND IN CCOKED VEGETABLES MEAT PRODUCTS MILK.IF YOU HAVE VOMITING ILLNESS YOU RECIEVED IT FROM A RICE DISH THIS INCLUDES FRIED RICE AND RICE PUDDING. OTHER SYMPTOMS ARE WATERY DIARRHEA,NAUSEA,VOMITING.
BACILLUS CEREUS GASTROENTERITIS IS A SPORE FORMING BACTERIA FOUND IN SOIL THE BACTERIA CAN PRODUCE TWO DIFFERENT TOXINS WHEN ALLOWED TO GROW TO HIGH LEVELS.THE TOXINS CAUSES DIFFERENT ILLNESSES.NOW HOW DO WE AVOID THIS.......COOK FOOD TO MINUMUM INTERNAL TEMPERATURES,HOLD FOOD AT THE RIGHT TEMPS COOL FOOD CORRECTLY
I am obsessed with food handling and and germ control, people have ruined the good bacteria on their hands with hand sanitizers, wash with soap and water if possible only use other when you can't wash properly.
I treat chicken like poison everything that touches the raw meat instantly goes into wash water and differnt everything to handle the cooked meat.I can't count the times I have seen cooked meat come off a grill and go onto the plate it was brought out raw on, no no no....
if you don't own a meat thermometor buy one 160 is the majic temp for done meat...
I see people leave food on counters or tables for hours or even over night and still eat it drives me crazey...maybe just crazier
Yes Debi that is bad safe temps are 155-175 degrees f ! And if you see cook meat on a plate that raw meat was on do not eat it.If a cook/wait staff uses their apron or shirt to dry their hands do not eat there.I have more types of food poisoning to post and will soon.Hand sanitizer is needed in food places for public so that the chances of the publi getting food poisoning or even a cold is decreased.Put your food away right away never allow meat to thaw sitting out at room tempature ! Always put food in fridge/freezer right away remember 4 hours is when bacteria has grown enough to make you sick.
Most important prevention measure:controling time and tempature
Listeria monocytogenes is found in soil water plants.Unlike other bacteris it growsin cool,moist enviorments.The illness is uncommon for healthy people BUT high risk people are especiallyvulnerable-particularly pregnant women.

Please tell me you are all reading these posts family I haven't posted the worse ones yet but I will.Most of these healthy ppl will get over and be alright but ppl with weak immune systems will have a harder time and death may accure so read ask questions learn stay healthy.
Remember timetempature abuse,cross contamination,dirty hands = FOOD POISON
