there mere fact, you find yourself away from Africa, how do you conduct yourself  to show that you are a real African when you are in the position of other people? do you hide yourself by changing your Africanism or you act as born-grow European or American?

I wasn't physically born in Africa, nor could I tell you where in Africa my ancestors are from.  However, I seek to connect with and understand Africa and all it's Truths, good or bad.  People say I'm Black, however, I dislike being identified as a color, in my heart, I'm African.  Black, well, what is that, there is no substance to being Black, no true identity.  I am met with tons of resistance, people saying, "You're not African, you weren't born in Africa!"  Perhaps, most people in Africa would say the same to me and I can understand their stance, however, I can't deny the truth of the history about slavery here in America and where my people are from.

You posed your question, do you see that happen often among Africans?

I agree with Marquana, I've come across those that are offended because I don't care for the term black.  It's as if by trying to identify with your heritage you are somehow dismissing Americans.  I've never seen that happen with any other race.

That's true...no other race has been identified by their characteristics like Our People..from colored as if were a box of crayons to Afro-Amreican as if I hairstyle defined our race to Black as if we're marked & deliberately labeled to stand out from all other races (as if our perseverance don't already do that for us).

It is great to be an African.  African people are warm, naturaly, generous, artistic,

musical etc I want all my Bros and Sis' all over the world, including Afro-Caribbeans and Afro-Americans to be proud of their rich heritage and should endeavoure to establish themselves in any African country of their choice.

I agree with Israel.  I think it is our obligation to educate ourselves as well as our children & promote our resilient heritage as a virtue to be proud of.
